8th EDITION OF THE ROSÀ MACHINE TOOL OLYMPICS

On the 13th May, Mevis hosted the eighth edition of the Machine Tool Olympics, an exciting team-based competition (with 33 teams entering this year) reserved for mechanical and technical school students from the province of Vicenza. The event is organised by the mechanical section of the Vicenza Confindustria in conjunction with UCIMU (the union of machine tool constructors) and is designed to encourage young people to put their skills to the test in an educational game that promotes knowledge of the latest machine programming and production technologies and understanding of the professionalism and competences demanded. The competition, which consisted of theory and practice sessions, was followed by a round table with Massimo Carboniero, President of the mechanical section and Vice-President of UCIMU, Federico Visentin, CEO of Mevis S.p.a., Marco Rosati, UCIMU’s director of internal relations and membership development, Diego Caron, mechanical section committee member and Carlo Ratto, country manager of the Kaizen Institute, Italy. The day concluded with a prize-giving ceremony for the winners of the Olympics.
